Important game to mention about took place in Villeurbanne. Eighth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (6-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Limoges CSP Elite (5-6) 72-69 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-12. But Limoges CSP Elite won second period 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American-Serbian guard DeMarcus Nelson (193-85, college: Duke) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) answered with 20 points and American guard William Buford (196-90, college: Ohio St., agency: Two Points) added 22 points in the effort for Limoges CSP Elite. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Limoges CSP Elite keeps the ninth position with six games lost. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will face league's second-placed Chalon/Saor on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limoges CSP Elite will play against Le Portel (#17) and hope to win that game.
