Macae has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Liga Sorocaba (2-5) 68-66. The winners were led by American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) who scored that evening 15 points and 6 assists and power forward Luiz Paulo Dos Santos (210-89, college: Slippery Rock) supported him with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Macae players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 5 rebounds by Argentinian point guard Enzo Cafferata (187-88) did not help to save the game for Liga Sorocaba. Guard Rafael Castellon (192-85) added 14 points for the guests. Macae maintains fourteenth position with 1-5 record. It was Liga Sorocaba's fifth loss in a row. They keep the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with Minas. Macae will play against higher ranked Vasco Da G. (#7) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Liga Sorocaba will play on the road against Pinheiros (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
