Regular Season Round 9: Mondeville - Hainaut 81-65

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Mondeville (5-4) beat at home 10th ranked Hainaut (2-7) 81-65. It looked good early as Hainaut took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mondeville had a 24-8 second period charge getting the lead and Hainaut was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-81. Mondeville forced 22 Hainaut turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Marieme Badiane (190-94) who scored 28 points and 9 rebounds. Canadian forward Michelle Plouffe (193-92, college: Utah) chipped in 20 points and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Porsha Roberts (188-93, college: SF Austin) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Mondeville maintains fifth place with 5-4 record, which they share with Villeneuve. Hainaut at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Mondeville's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Tarbes (#12) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Hainaut will play against the league's second-placed Lattes Montpellier and hope to win that game.
