Regular Season Round 11: Avenida - Araski 70-51

Date: December 3, 2016
An interesting game for Perfumerias Avenida (10-1) which hosted in Salamanca 4th placed Araski (7-4). First ranked Perfumerias Avenida had an easy win 70-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Araski. The game was mostly controlled by Perfumerias Avenida. Araski was better in second period 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Araski to just 6 points in first quarter. Perfumerias Avenida made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Erika De Souza (197-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 10 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Angela Salvadores (178-97, college: Duke) helped adding 11 points. Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Girona. Newly promoted Araski keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Perfumerias Avenida will play against Socinsa Bembibre (#5) at home in the next round. Araski will play against Gran Canaria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
