Not a big story in a game in Corugate where 12th ranked Carugate (1-7) was rolled over by sixth ranked Milano (6-3) 68-37 on Saturday. The game without a history. Milano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Carugate to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Carugate 40-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Sara Canova (174-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) stepped up and scored 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Latvian power forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Milano's coach Franz Pinotti felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was power forward Marta Scarsi (182-95) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Cecilia Albano (180-96) scored 10 points. Milano maintains sixth place in A2 with 6-3 record. Loser Carugate keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Milano will face higher ranked Orvieto (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Carugate will play against Albino (#8) and hope to win that game.
