Regular Season Round 9: CFBB - Avenir 55-59

LF2 top team - Avenir (8-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twelfth ranked CFBB (2-7) in Paris 59-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CFBB. Avenir dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 22. Avenir forced 26 CFBB turnovers. American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) with 19 points and forward Kadiatou Sissoko (180-99) scored 11 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Avenir have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record, which they share with Roche. CFBB at the other side keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Limoges and Roannais. Avenir will play against Toulouse (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. CFBB will play against the league's second-placed Roche (#2) in La Roche and hopes to get back on the winning track.
