Bottom-ranked Amazone (0-12) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to second ranked Binnenland (8-2) 90-54. Binnenland forced 31 Amazone turnovers and had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by guard Gabrielle Van Den Bosch (173-93) who scored that evening 24 points and 4 steals and Canadian guard Janine Guijt (173, college: Regina) supported her with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Binnenland's coach Joost van Rangelrooy felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by Austrian forward Camilla Neumann (181-94) did not help to save the game for Amazone. Renee Hoveling (186-94) added 6 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Binnenland maintains second position with 8-2 record having four points less than leader Lekdetec.nl. Amazone at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Binnenland will play against Grasshoppers (#3) in Katwijk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Amazone will play at home against Royal Eagles (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
