Bottom-ranked Adelaide Lightning is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to sixth ranked Townsville Fire (6-7) 72-54 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Townsville Fire led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and guard Mia Murray (184-88) accounted for 26 points and 5 rebounds. Four Townsville Fire players scored in double figures. International center Laura Hodges (191-83) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Adelaide Lightning in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 6-7 record. Adelaide Lightning lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Townsville Fire will meet at home Boomers (#7) in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against the league's leader Dandenong Rangers and hopes to get finally their first victory.
