Regular Season Round 8: Bourg - Rouen 70-80

Bottom-ranked SPO Rouen managed to get a second victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked JL Bourg 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by SPO Rouen. JL Bourg managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for SPO Rouen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The winners were led by American point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Inception Sports) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists and Icelandic Haukur Palsson (197-92, college: Maryland) supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds by Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for JL Bourg. Meredis Houmounou (188-88) added 17 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SPO Rouen (2-6) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Blois and Boulogne. Loser JL Bourg keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Le Havre and Vichy Clermont. SPO Rouen will meet at home league's leader Provence Basket in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JL Bourg will play against Denain Voltaire (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
