Second Stage Round 19: Beijing - Shanghai 87-63

Round 19 most important game was a defeat of Shanghai Dahua (5-2). They were crushed by second ranked Beijing Great Wall (5-2) 87-63 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shanghai Dahua. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. Beijing Great Wall dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Dahua's 38. They outrebounded Shanghai Dahua 38-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. The former international point guard Xiufeng Shi (178-87) helped adding 14 points. At the losing side American forward Breanna Stewart (193-94, college: Connecticut) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Jing Huang (183-85) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Beijing Great Wall have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of Group A leader, which they share with Shanghai. Shanghai Dahua will play next round against Guangdong Dolphins trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Beijing Great Wall will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Shanxi Rui Flame in Taiyuan.
