Second Stage Round 19: Henan - Shanxi 57-84

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Henan (3-4) against fourth ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (3-4) on Saturday night. Host Henan was crushed by Shanxi Rui Flame in Jiyuan 84-57. Shanxi Rui Flame dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Henan's 28 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. International center Hongpin Huang (196-89) helped adding 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Shanxi Rui Flame players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Jie Sun (187-91) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and guard WangLai Zhang (172-94) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Henan's coach Ming-Soo Park gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Shanxi Rui Flame moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Henan and Guangdong. Henan lost their third game in a row. Shanxi Rui Flame will face league's leader Beijing Great Wall at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Henan will play against Shenyang Golden Lions and hope to win that game.
