Very expected game when 9th ranked San Salvatore (4-5) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Team Crema (6-3) 70-51 on Sunday. The game without a history. Team Crema led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvatore's 22. Team Crema forced 19 San Salvatore turnovers. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (185-84) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Paola Caccialanza (175-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Team Crema players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Ada De Pasquale (173-95) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) scored 4 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Team Crema maintains fifth place in A2 with 6-3 record. Loser San Salvatore keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Team Crema will face Cagliari CUS (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Salvatore will play against Scrivia (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
