The biggest surprise took place in Lucca where host Lucca (8-1) beat league's leader Familia Schio (8-1) 61-53 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Familia Schio. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Familia Schio trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 18-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 53-61 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was international point guard Francesca Dotto (170-93, agency: LBM Management) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Julie Wojta (183-89, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Lucca players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) added 16 points respectively. Lucca have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Familia Schio and Venezia. Familia Schio will play next round against Broni trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lucca will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Umbertide on the road.
