Regular Season Round 9: Trefl Sopot - Krosno 75-64

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Krosno (5-5) and Trefl (5-4), which took place in Sopot. 7th ranked Krosno lost to tenth ranked Trefl in a road game 64-75. It looked good early as Krosno took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trefl had a 25-6 second period charge getting the lead and Krosno was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-75. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Krosno to just 6 points in second quarter. Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Anthony Ireland (175-91, college: Loyola Mary) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Swedish-American guard Chris Czerapowicz (201-91, college: Davidson) with 19 points and American guard Royce Woolridge (190-92, college: Grand Canyon) scored 16 points and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Asseco. Krosno at the other side dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Szczecin. Trefl will play against Energa Czarni (#11) in Slupsk in the next round. Krosno will play at home against Stabill and hopes to get back on the winning track.
