The game in Kyoto supposed to be also worth to mention about. 4th placed Akita Happinets (6-15) played at the court of fifth ranked Kyoto Hannar. (10-11). Kyoto Hannar. smashed Akita Happinets 71-46. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akita Happinets. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Akita Happinets was better in third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kyoto Hannar. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Akita Happinets' 30. It was a good game for American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Hayato Kawashima (186-90) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) added 7 points in the effort for Akita Happinets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyoto Hannar. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Ryukyu GK. Akita Happinets at the other side keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. Kyoto Hannar.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akita Happinets will play at home against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders and hope to win that game.
