Very expected game in Perugia where 11th ranked Valdiceppo (3-6) was defeated by second ranked Campli (8-1) 73-59 on Sunday. Campli outrebounded Valdiceppo 38-18 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Bruno Duranti (197-93) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Riccardo Bottioni (190-93) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Campli players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Alessandro Panzieri (201-95, college: High School) responded with 12 points and guard Matteo Orlandi (190-91) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Campli keeps a position of B leader. Newly promoted Valdiceppo dropped to the twelfth place with six games lost. Campli will face Bisceglie (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Valdiceppo will play against Isernia (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
