There was no surprise when 12th ranked TKM Wloclawek (1-10) was crushed at home by tenth ranked Gniezno (5-7) 89-59 on Sunday. Gniezno forced 21 TKM Wloclawek turnovers and outrebounded them 50-28 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Michal Szydlowski (197-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Grzegorz Soltysiak (198-87) produced 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Rafal Komenda (200-98) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gniezno moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Goleniow. TKM Wloclawek lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Gniezno will face higher ranked AZS UMK Torun (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TKM Wloclawek will play against AZS PP (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
