Regular Season Round 9: Ironi Nahariya - Bnei Hertzeliyya 72-75

A very interesting game took place in Nahariya. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Ironi Nahariya (3-6) to fifth ranked Bnei Hasharon (6-3) 75-72 on Sunday evening. Ironi Nahariya was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 17-13 charge of Bnei Hasharon, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. International forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Derwin Kitchen (194-86, college: Florida St.) who recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Niv Berkowitz (190-86, college: Marquette) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bnei Hasharon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel Holon. Ironi Nahariya at the other side keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be Hapoel Holon (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Ironi Nahariya will play against Maccabi K/G (#12) and hope to win that game.
