Regular Season Round 21: Kumamoto V. - Hiroshima D. 78-62

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (17-3) which hosted in Kumamoto second-best Dragonflies (15-5). First ranked Kumamoto V. had an easy win 78-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dragonflies. It looked good early as Dragonflies took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kumamoto V. had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Dragonflies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-78. They outrebounded Dragonflies 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) who scored 24 points. American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Kumamoto V.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese center Aziz N'Diaye (213-88, college: Washington) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Kumamoto V. maintains first place with 17-3 record, which they share with Toyotsu FE. Dragonflies at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. Kumamoto V.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dragonflies will play at home against Bambitious Nara and hope to win that game.
