A very interesting game took place in Madrid. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Andorra (6-4) to thirteenth ranked Movil Estudiantes (4-6) 87-85 on Sunday evening. The hosts were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 32-13 last quarter charge of Andorra cut the lead to 87-85 at the end of the game. Movil Estudiantes made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was French Edwin Jackson (190-89, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian-Croatian center Goran Suton (208-85, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Movil Estudiantes' coach Salvador Maldonado allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and Czech swingman David Jelinek (195-90, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four Movil Estudiantes and five Andorra players scored in double figures. Movil Estudiantes moved-up to tenth place, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Andorra at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Movil Estudiantes' next round opponent will be higher ranked Baskonia (#6) in Vitoria and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
