Rather expected game in Ishikawa where 5th ranked Otsuka A. (8-8) was defeated by third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (11-5) 81-73 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-73. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Ray Raymond (203-84, college: Wisconsin) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Otsuka A.'s coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kanazawa Sam. maintains third position with 11-5 record having eight points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Otsuka A. dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will face Aisin AW (#6) in Aichi in the next round. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Big Blue.
