Regular Season Round 9: UCC Demons - Killester 79-80

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Super League took place in Cork. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed UCC Demons (6-3) to sixth ranked Killester (5-3) 80-79 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UCC Demons. The best player for the winners was naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Alan Casey (191-89) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Adrian O'Sullivan (180-93) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists and American forward Jacob Lawson (203-92, college: Appalachian St.) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Killester maintains sixth place with 5-3 record. Defending champion UCC Demons keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Tralee. Killester's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena Eanna.
