The game in Oslo was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Baerum Basket (9-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Centrum (5-8). Baerum Basket managed to secure a 5-point victory 81-76. It looked good early as Centrum took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Baerum Basket had a 28-15 second period charge getting the lead and Centrum was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-81. Baerum Basket made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Centrum was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Gilchrese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Anders Stien (195-90) responded with 27 points and point guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Baerum Basket and four Centrum players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Baerum Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-4 record having just two points less than leader Kongsberg, which they share with Froya Basket. Defending champion Centrum dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Baerum Basket will play against league's second-placed Nidaros Jets in Tromdheim in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Centrum will play at home against Gimle BBK (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
