Regular Season Round 2: Al Gharafa - Al Khor 90-68

Al Gharafa smashed Al Khor in Doha 90-68. The game without a history. Al Gharafa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Al Khor's players. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 41 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Sammy Monroe (198-85, college: Newberry) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Monroe is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. Point guard Dairese Gary (185-88, college: N.Mexico) answered with 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Rickey Young (205-90, college: W.Virginia Tech) added 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Al Khor. Al Khor will play next round against Al Sadd trying to get back on the winning streak. Al Gharafa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
