No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Unicaja Malaga (7-3) crushed on the road bottom-ranked La ICL Manresa (1-9) 89-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Unicaja Malaga. La ICL Manresa was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unicaja Malaga looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by La ICL Manresa's players. Serbian center Dejan Musli (213-91, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Polish swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Serbian point guard Petar Aranitovic (194-94) answered with 21 points and Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) added 10 points in the effort for La ICL Manresa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja Malaga have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Valencia. La ICL Manresa lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face Valencia Basket (#5) at home in the next round. La ICL Manresa will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15) in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
