Regular Season Round 14: Tianjin GL - Jilin NE T. 121-126

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Jilin Tigers (7-7) won against 14th ranked TianJin Steel (5-9) in Tianjin 126-121. Jilin Tigers forced 21 TianJin Steel turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by TianJin Steel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri) who scored 39 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) produced 41 points (!!!) and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 25 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Jilin Tigers moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Shanxi Zh. TianJin Steel lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Jilin Tigers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. TianJin Steel will play against Liaoning Hunters (#5) and hope to win that game.
