Regular Season Round 10: Monteroni - Rimini 58-87

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Monteroni (3-7) was outplayed at home by seventh ranked Rimini (5-4) 87-58 on Sunday. Rimini had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Point guard Davide Meluzzi (180-98) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Luca Pesaresi (180-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Rimini players scored in double figures. Rimini's coach Andrea Maghelli felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and Bosnian point guard Amar Balic (178-96) scored 12 points. Rimini maintains seventh position in B with 5-4 record. Loser Monteroni dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Rimini will face higher ranked Porto S.Elpidio (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Monteroni will play against Taranto (#15) and hope to win that game.
