Latvian Vega 1's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Turkish Istanbul Uni (2-3) 99-46 on Sunday. The game without a history. Vega 1 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Istanbul Uni's 24 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Istanbul Uni 43-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. Vega 1 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Istanbul Uni's players. Forward Laura Audere (180-84) nailed 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Sabine Lipe (176-99) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds. Five Vega 1 players scored in double figures. Point guard Kardelen Gezgin (170-0) came up with 9 points and 9 rebounds and center Eylul Minez (185-99) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Uni in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vega 1 (1-4) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Tsmoki-Minsk. Istanbul Uni at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
