Regular Season Round 9: Torino - Vigarano 65-67

Date: December 4, 2016
There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Torino (3-6) was edged at home by tenth ranked Vigarano (3-6) 67-65 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Torino won second period 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vigarano forced 27 Torino turnovers. Strangely Torino outrebounded Vigarano 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Amber Orrange (170-93, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. American-Lithuanian forward Sofija Aleksandravicius (196-91, college: Davidson, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jori Davis (175-89, college: Indiana) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) added 22 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Torino's coach Marco Spanu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vigarano moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Torino and Umbertide. Vigarano will face higher ranked Ragusa (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
