There was no surprise when 6th ranked Alpo VF (4-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Vicenza (7-1) 57-53 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 18-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Maria Giulia Pegoraro (174-89) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and power forward Giuditta Nicolodi (185-95) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Roberta Di Gregorio (172-90) with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Alpo VF's coach Nicola Soave rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vicenza moved-up to second place in A2. Loser Alpo VF dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Vicenza will face Castellammare (#9) in Stabia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpo VF will play at home against Pordenone and hope to win that game.
