Regular Season Round 14: Beijing D. - Shenzhen L. 113-111

The most exciting game of round 14 in the CBA took place in Beijing. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Leopards (10-4) to seventh ranked Beijing Ducks (9-5) 113-111 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Leopards. Beijing Ducks made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 9 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. The other American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) replied with 40 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) added 25 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Leopards. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks maintains seventh position with 9-5 record. Leopards at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Liaoning H.. Beijing Ducks are looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#9) in Changchun in the next round. Leopards will play on the road against North Control (#16) in Beijing and are hoping to win this game.
