Regular Season Round 21: Kagawa FA - Ehime OV 89-68

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Orange Vikings (7-13) were smashed by fifth ranked Kagawa FA (4-16) in Takamatsu 89-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kagawa FA. Orange Vikings was better in fourth quarter 31-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kagawa FA forced 19 Orange Vikings turnovers. It was a good game for point guard Rintaro Tokunaga (177-86) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Vincentian power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) added 5 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Orange Vikings. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagawa FA maintains fifth place with 4-16 record. Loser Orange Vikings keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Kagawa FA will face Iwate Big Bulls (#6) on the road in the next round. Orange Vikings will play against the league's leader Gunma and hope to win that game.
