The game in Kashan was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Arak (4-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Kashan (2-4). Arak defeated Kashan 91-77 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Arak. Kashan was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arak shot 27 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Kashan only scored eleven points from the stripe. Arak forced 19 Kashan turnovers. Kashan was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for international center Asghar Kardoust (212-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Georgian forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Four Arak players scored in double figures. Croatian center Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Arash Najafi (-77) added 15 points in the effort for Kashan. Kashan's coach gave the chance to play for eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Arak maintains fourth position with 4-2 record. Kashan lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Arak will face higher ranked Azad (#3) in Tehran in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kashan will play on the road against the league's leader Naft Abadan (#1) and hope to win that game.
