The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (3-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Maccabi Raanana (1-3). Maccabi Ashdod smashed Maccabi Raanana 86-44 on Monday. Maccabi Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Raanana's 28 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod forced 25 Maccabi Raanana turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Katia Levitsky (190-85, college: Villanova) fired 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Swedish Abdi Farhiya (188-92) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import point guard Tiffany Bias (168-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Newly promoted Maccabi Raanana dropped to the bottom place with three games lost. They share the position with Hap.Petah Tikva. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home Maccabi Ramat Gan (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Maccabi Raanana will play against Elitzur Holon (#6) and hope to win that game.
