Regular Season Round 6: Chemidor - Army 73-71

Important game to mention about took place in Tehran. Seventh ranked Chemidor (3-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Army (2-4) 73-71 on Monday evening. Army cut a 14-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Chemidor made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Lithuanian power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Javad Davari (185-83) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-88) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chemidor have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tabriz. Army at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Kashan. Chemidor will play against bottom-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Army will play against Tabriz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
