Regular Season Round 2: Hoops - Moutahed 74-82

There was a minor upset in Beirut where Hoops Club (0-3) was defeated by Al Moutahed (1-1) 82-74. American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) notched 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Dewarick Spencer (192-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Al Moutahed's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) did not help to save the game for Hoops Club. International point guard Ali Mezher (182-94) added 18 points and 6 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Moutahed's next round opponent will be Homenetmen in Beirut and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoops Club's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Sagesse.
