Regular Season Round 11: Calvia - Arenys 87-81

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Calvia as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group C-A. Calvia defeated 3rd placed Arenys at home 87-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Arenys. Arenys was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 28-18 charge of Calvia, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Arenys' 22. It was a great evening for power forward Jose Maria Morales (205-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Ivan Matemalas (194-80) helped adding 23 points. Guard Aritz Tomas (186-86) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and point guard Pau Ruzafa (180) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Calvia (8-2) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Menorca. Arenys at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Martorell and Castellbisbal.
