A very interesting game took place in Changchun. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Beijing Ducks (9-6) to ninth ranked Jilin Tigers (8-7) 100-99 on Wednesday evening. Jilin Tigers made 28-of-32 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Jilin Tigers outrebounded Beijing Ducks 59-39 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 26 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri) contributed with 31 points for the winners. The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) answered with 29 points and American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jilin Tigers moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shandong FB and Jiangsu D. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the seventh position with six games lost. Jilin Tigers' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked North Control (#20) in Beijing which should be an easy win for them.
