Regular Season Round 16: Nova Ves - Kosice 70-97

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 15th consecutive match to second ranked Kosice (12-3) 97-70. The game without a history. Kosice led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Nova Ves turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian power forward Vladimir Ivelja (204-88, agency: AproK Sports Group) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American-Jamaican Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kosice and four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. Nova Ves' coach David Demecko gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kosice have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-3 record behind leader Inter Bratislava. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Kosice will play against Rieker KN (#7) in Komarno in the next round where they are favorite. Nova Ves will play on the road against Handlova (#8) in MBK Handlova and hope to get finally their first victory.
