SM-sarja top team - HyPo (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Aanekosken (5-7) in Aanekoski 90-65. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 25 points. HyPo made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Aanekosken only scored nine points from the stripe. HyPo forced 23 Aanekosken turnovers. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. HyPo's coach Miikka Sopanen felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) produced 23 points and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (183-70, college: New Orleans) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. HyPo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Loser Aanekosken keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. HyPo will meet league's second-placed Forssan Alku on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aanekosken will play against ViVe (#7) in Vimpeli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
