Regular Season Round 5: Shockers - Pirates 87-82

Date: December 7, 2016
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Pirates (2-5) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shockers (4-3) 87-82 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Shockers forced 21 Pirates turnovers. Salathiel Dean stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and point guard Floyd Armbrister chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shockers players scored in double figures. Donathan Johnson responded with 8 points and 12 rebounds and American Domonique Fernander (, college: Hobart) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shockers maintains fourth place with 4-3 record. Loser Pirates keep the ninth position with five games lost. Shockers will meet Stingers (#5) in the next round. Pirates will play against Rockets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
