Regular Season Round 10: Civitanova - Ferrara 68-40

Date: December 8, 2016
The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Civitanova's (7-3) home victory over 5th ranked Ferrara (5-4) 68-40. The game was mostly controlled by Civitanova. Ferrara was better in fourth quarter 14-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ferrara to just 4 points in third quarter. Civitanova shot 61.4 percent from the field. Civitanova had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Veronica Perini (175-88) notched 14 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard Silvia Ceccarelli (172-96) supported her with 16 points and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots). Even 9 points by point guard Rosa Cupido (173-92) did not help to save the game for Ferrara. Power forward Liliana Miccio (182-89) added 5 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Civitanova moved-up to third place in A2. Ferrara at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Civitanova's next round opponent will be Castellammare (#10) in Stabia and are hoping to win another game. Ferrara will play at home against Alpo VF (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
