Regular Season Round 11: Montegrano - Ortona 80-60

There was no surprise in Montenegrano where 10th ranked Ortona (4-7) was crushed by second ranked Montegrano (9-1) 80-60 on Thursday. Montegrano dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Ortona's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Giorgio Broglia (198-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian center Marcelo Dip (205-84, agency: Players Group) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Montegrano players scored in double figures. Montegrano's coach Gabriele Ceccarelli used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Gianluca Di Carmine (200-86) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian guard Ariel Svoboda (192-85, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Montegrano maintains second place in B with 9-1 record having just one point less than leader Bergamo. Loser Ortona keeps the tenth position with seven games lost.
