There was no surprise when 9th ranked Fiorentina (5-5) was edged on the road by fifth ranked Valsesia (7-4) 68-66 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Valsesia made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Nicola Savoldelli (185-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Guard Flavio Gay (183-98) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Giacomo Bloise (183-90) produced 22 points and 4 assists and swingman Davide Poltroneri (195-85) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Valsesia moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Lecco. Loser Fiorentina keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Valsesia will face Sangiorgese (#14) in San Giorgio in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fiorentina will play at home against Oleggio (#12) and hope to win that game.
