Regular Season Round 11: Moncalieri - Domodossola 67-62

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Domodossola (3-8) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Moncalieri (6-4) 67-62 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Moncalieri made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Moncalieri outrebounded Domodossola 42-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Domodossola was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Francesco Conti (205-83) who scored 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Riccardo Coviello (197-88) chipped in 7 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Francesco Tuci (204-92) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Luca Falconi (190-91) added 20 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Moncalieri moved-up to fifth place in B. Newly promoted Domodossola dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Moncalieri will face Siena Virtus (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Domodossola will play against Varese Robur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
