Regular Season Round 16: Panteras - Toros 95-99

Another exciting game for Toros (11-6) which played in Aguascalientes against their biggest opponent Panteras (10-7). Third ranked Toros won 99-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Panteras. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Panteras were ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 29-24 charge of Toros, which allowed them to win the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Panteras were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists and naturalized American forward Quentin Gonzalez (200-84, college: McNeese St.) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with 25 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and Puerto Rican point guard Alex Abreu (180-91, college: W.Georgia) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toros moved-up to second place. Panteras at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost.
