There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Roma Virtus (6-5) won against at home 4th placed Lighthouse TR (6-5) 98-84 on Thursday. Roma Virtus made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Roma Virtus outrebounded Lighthouse TR 45-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward John Brown (203-92, college: High Point) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Aristide Landi (203-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Roma Virtus' coach Fabio Corbani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) answered with 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and the former international power forward Andrea Renzi (207-89, agency: Players Group) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lighthouse TR. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Roma Virtus moved-up to fourth place in A2. Roma Virtus will face Rieti (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lighthouse TR will play against Mens Sana 1871 (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
