Important game to mention about took place in Buenos Aires. Sixth ranked Instituto (10-11) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Boca Juniors (6-15) 97-96 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Boca Juniors. Instituto made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) fired 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The other American import John DeGroat (201-85, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 24 points. Center Eduardo Vassirani (200-91) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Lucas Perez (185-87) added 16 points and 11 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boca Juniors' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Olimpico LB. Loser Boca Juniors keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Instituto will face higher ranked GECR Indalo (#3) in Comodoro R. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
