Top ranked ToPo (8-5) recorded its fifth loss on the court of ninth ranked Jarvenpaa on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Jarvenpaa 87-78. ToPo trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 27-25 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-87 at the end of the game. They outrebounded ToPo 50-31 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Jarvenpaa made 7 blocks. Forward Cedric Latimer (198-87, college: St.Francis, PA) responded with 16 points and point guard Miki Kuusisto (194-94) scored 9 points and 4 assists. ToPo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jarvenpaa (4-7) moved-up to eighth place in Division. Newly promoted ToPo dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Jarvenpaa will meet higher ranked Jyvaskyla BA (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ToPo will have a break next round.
