Regular Season Round 15: Shanghai S. - Shandong GS 113-111

Eighth-ranked Shandong Bulls (8-7) gave a tough game to first ranked Shanghai Sharks (14-1). Shanghai Sharks managed to secure only two-point victory 113-111. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shandong Bulls. Shanghai Sharks made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Shandong Bulls were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists. French Guerschon Yabusele (201-95) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) came up with 41 points (!!!), 6 assists and 5 steals and the other American import forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Shandong Bulls in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Shanghai Sharks. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Shandong Bulls at the other side keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Jiangsu D. and Jilin NE T.. Shanghai Sharks will play against TianJin Steel (#14) in Tianjin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Shandong Bulls will play on the road against Fujian (#17) in Jinjiang and hope to get back on the winning track.
